Setting down his phone, Stephen smiles. It's been entirely too long since he's done anything like this-- impulsive and fun-- what with all the saving the world from interdimensional entities and such. But Christine is and always has been someone unlike anyone else in his life, and when the texts started, Stephen was more than happy to step away from his duties to get reacquainted with her.

After ensuring that the New York Sanctum's wards were properly in place, he slips his sling ring onto his fingers and begins the familiar process. Ring hand up, free hand tracing an invisible circle beside it. A moment later, a glowing circle of what looked like orange sparks appears in the air a few feet before him, growing in diameter until it's large enough for him to pass through, which he does...

Appearing through a similar ring in Christine's apartment. Once he's through, the circle disappears.

"I like what you've done with the place," he says, glancing around.

It’s not exactly a lie. Christine is craving warmth. The winter is a cold one and it’s left the floor of her apartment cold to the touch of her bare feet. More than that, though, she’s been craving closeness. She misses Stephen. As arrogant as he could be, he also possessed a certain charm that always managed to win her over. Even after he’d pushed her away, she’d missed him, and after they’d reconnected at the hospital she only missed him more.

He stepped through the ring and she let out an amused huff of breath. That was something she didn’t think she’d ever get used to. As the circle closed, she walked over to him in her nightgown, narrowing the space between them slightly.

“I changed a few things since you were here last.” The words come out quietly. Her eyes aren’t on the rearranged furniture or decorations, but instead are focused on Stephen. He’s the important feature in this room right now.

He steps closer and it’s almost the same effect as when two magnets get a little closer to one another. She doesn’t say anything more. Christine rushes over to him, hands on his shoulders, and stands on her toes to kiss him on the mouth. In the hospital she hadn’t gotten a chance to tell him just how much she’d missed him, so now she’s going to demonstrate it.

A hand slides down from his shoulder to his hand, guiding his hand to her waist. Christine needs to feel him touching her, although she doesn’t say it with words.

She pulls away slightly, ending one kiss and starting to trail others down his jaw, and pauses for just a moment. “I’m glad you came.”

Stephen’s kiss almost takes her breath away. She doesn’t think she’s ever been kissed like that before in her lifetime. Maybe absence really does make the heart grow fonder. Christine wraps an arm around him as he pulls her closer.

“Missed you, too.” She smiles flirtatiously.

Taking her hands, she pushes the thin straps of her nightgown off of her shoulders, letting it fall to the floor, leaving her naked. She presses herself against him as she kisses him once more, lips colliding with such force it almost feels like they might bruise. Standing up on her toes so her mouth can reach, she trails up to his ear so that she can whisper.

“I think you’re a little overdressed.”

Her face pulls back and she grins at him playfully.

[ ooc: Sorry, the holidays combined with preparations for spring semester got crazy. If you're okay with backtags I'd like to continue! ]

The grand gesture of being swept off of her feet in a very literal way drew a laugh from Christine and her face lit up happily. She looked up at him with a smile as he disrobed. His odd clothing barely registered in her mind. Somewhere between seeing him step through that portal at the hospital and seeing him step through the portal in her apartment she’d come to terms with the fact that he’d changed in ways she would probably never fully understand.

As he was almost completely undressed, she gestured for him to come closer with a finger. “Get over here.” Even as he was here she still almost felt like she was still missing him. Christine needed to touch him, taste him, know he was really there.
